Water touches everyone.

Everyone should be able to measure water quality accurately, share data with scientists and teachers and take part in a meaningful discussion on how we can improve and preserve our environment.

"I want an accurate water quality monitor that I can use from my kayak"

We started our journey when a friend complained about the cost and complexity of accurate water quality monitors.  They were too expensive and too cumbersome for most volunteer groups and schools.

All she wanted was a small, easy-to-use sensor that she could use while kayaking.  A sensor that measures temperature, salinity, turbidity, and chlorophyll and sends the data to a cloud.

We built her a one-off prototype.  Maybe it was clunky and big and maybe it leaked a little but it worked.  It proved that it was possible to combine relevant, accurate sensors into a small, hand-held package and make it easy and fun to operate.

We are currently developing our first system, a handheld, IoT-connected multi-parameter sensor, a secure mobile app, and a cloud-based data storage and display system.

"If I had these sensors, I'd send my students to the river and have them take turbidity, salinity and temperature profiles"

We believe that science, education, and environmental engagement go hand in hand. Moving beyond technological barriers is our mission and passion.
